Ever Wondered What is personality profiling

Personality profiling of people, sometimes referred to as psychometric testing or psychological profiling, helps us understand a person's personality type in a particular situation.

It will not tell you anything about how academic they are|It will not be a measure of cleverness or ability.

It will only tell you about the individual's preferred behaviour|However you may discover stuff about what they do.

Here we will talk about some things about personality and evenhow to make use of it at work.

Profiling at the office

Personality Profiling is applied to improve businesses in different ways.. For over fifty years it has been commonly used in;

Recruitment

Annual Appraisals

Development

Teams

Recruiting with Personality

Are you recruiting? You probably realise that even though a few personality types will do well, the vast majority will not. This is regardless of their qualifications or experience. Each person's personality type determines how they cope with the specific work environment you offer.

Ideally you want to recruit “Naturals” over “Forced Fits”.

A “Natural” will find your work environment compatible with their personality profile. This is because they work to their strengths. “Naturals” will stick the job longer and deliver better results.

“Forced Fits” will always struggle with your work environment. It takes a lot of energy for them just to get through the day. So People Maps invented SPB. With this tool you can identify which candidates will do best in your job role.

How To Do this

Lots of people ask this question, how do you profile other people. It's pretty much impossible to do this manually. It requires some software, which is a combination of some questions and some code, that produces a result.

Much easier by far is to use an existing platform. It takes years of refinement and development to produce a profiler that can be relied upon. PeopleMaps spent millions and several years to develop its profiler. I would have a long look at any system that tool less than that.

Are you looking for FBI profiling? Then you need to look at a very different school and it's not what this piece is about.

Tools for Profiling

With so many systems to choose from. You should be ensuring you buy the right one. Will it last the test of time?. It takes years to refine a system to produce repeatable results.

Will it do what you need it to do?. Personality reports come in a myriad of formats, make sure you get the right one. Is it an internet system?|Double check it has been designed to be used on the web|These days everything has to work over the internet.

Very few the systems are as good as some claim. Any questionnaire more than ten minutes long is going to be a problem. Do you know who is behind it?.
